1. Minimum Commitment Period

  • Many studios require a minimum commitment period (e.g., 12 weeks or 3 months) before a cancellation can be processed. This ensures that the studio covers the initial administrative costs of signing you up.

2. Notice Period

  • Typically, you will need to give 14 to 30 days' notice (depending on the studio) before canceling your membership. This allows the studio time to process the cancellation and stop further payments.

3. Refund Policy

  • No refunds for payments already made are generally offered. However, some studios may offer a pro-rated refund or a credit towards future services if you cancel before the end of the year or before the minimum commitment period is over. This depends on their individual policy.

4. Cancellation Fee

  • Some studios impose a cancellation fee for memberships that are canceled before the completion of the full year. This fee helps cover any administrative costs related to the cancellation.

5. Reason for Cancellation

  • Some studios may require a valid reason for the cancellation, particularly if it's within the initial commitment period. Common reasons could include moving out of town, injury, or a change in financial circumstances.

6. Freeze or Pause Option

  • If you are unable to attend classes for a period of time, many studios will allow you to pause or freeze your membership for a set period (e.g., 1–3 months). This option helps you avoid having to cancel entirely, especially if you anticipate being away for a while.

7. Automatic Renewal

  • Some studios have automatic renewal clauses in their membership contracts. If you do not cancel before the membership renewal date, your membership may automatically renew for another year. In this case, it's important to give notice of your intent to cancel before the renewal date.

8. Transferability

  • Annual memberships are generally non-transferable, meaning they cannot be passed on to another person or extended to a different service. However, a few studios may make exceptions or offer options like transferring to a different membership type.

Example of a Common Cancellation Policy for a Yearly Membership:

Cancellation of Yearly Membership

  • After the initial 12-month commitment, you may cancel your membership by giving 30 days' written notice.

  • If you cancel before the end of your 12-month commitment, an early cancellation fee of $65 (or another set amount) will apply.

  • No refunds will be issued for unused months, and payments already made cannot be refunded.

  • Memberships will automatically renew after 12 months unless you provide written notice of cancellation at least 30 days before your renewal date.

  • If you are unable to attend due to injury or relocation, we may offer a pause or pro-rated refund in certain circumstances, subject to approval.

Always check the specific terms and conditions for your studio, as each may vary slightly.
